(Tuttlingen __. February 2011). At two trade shows in March CHIRON will be demonstrating technological solutions for small precision parts with 5-axis machining operations in a single set-up. From March 22nd to March 26th CHIRON, the world leader among the providers of vertical machining centers will be at the international dental show IDS in Cologne, and from March 24th to March 31st at the worlds biggest watch and jewelery show, Baselworld in Switzerland.

Highlight: The precision machining center
FZ 08K S MAGNUM five axis.
CHIRON, the worlds market leader in vertical machining centers will present in both shows, a cutting demonstration on the innovative machining center model FZ 08K S MAGNUM five axis with NC 2-axis rotary tables. With this solution gold, titanium, platinum, stainless steel, cobalt chrome, ceramic and zirconium oxide parts can be manufactured confidently, efficiently and fast.

Efficient, fast and precise
With the compact FZ 08K S Magnum five axis for simultaneous and complete machining in one set-up, small and complex watch and jewelery parts, implants and dental instruments can be manufactured to the highest quality.

The FZ 08 has an NC-2-axis rotary table with a swivel range of +-120° and a turning option up to 6,400 rpm with high dynamics due to its fast and precise TORQUE drive. The new table was developed and is produced by CHIRON.
With this configuration the customers will achieve short cycle times, finest part geometries, complex surfaces, micro drilling, preparation for slots, pockets, fits, clearances and special geometries.

Automation in small footprints
For automated processes and high efficiency machining, the series 08 machines can be upgraded with the Flexcell Uno robot cell.
The robot is integrated into the machine base. It can achieve a loading/unloading time of 2 seconds. It takes the raw parts from the pallet (pallet storage up to 24 pallets) and places the finished parts back on the pallet. During production time the pallets can be exchanged without stopping the system.

Live at IDS
At the CHIRON booth, Stand E010 in hall 02.2 a tooth crown in titanium will be machined in the FZ 08K S MAGNUM five axis.

Live at Baselworld
At the CHIRON booth K 21 in hall 3 U the company demonstrates the machining of a watch case in stainless steel in the FZ 08K S MAGNUM five axis.


Open House: In-house exhibition at CHIRON from May 18 to 21
Parallel to the trade shows in Cologne and Basel, CHIRON is also preparing the “Open House” in-house exhibition, which will run from May 18th through the 21st in Tuttlingen. Highlights will be two machine innovations which will be presented to the public for the first time.
First there will be a new swivel head variation of the strong BIG MILL series for flexible machining of big work-piece dimensions, Second we will present an extremely compact double spindle machining center based of the series 08 machine.
A program of presentations and an exhibition of partner companies complete the event for customers, suppliers and media representatives.
