![]() “It’s a unique product in many ways. It’s compact, easy to move, has good specifications, good options, is very flexible, is built with good components and it’s the only machine that I know of that you can replace the Impactor with a Jaw on the same chassis,” Michael McGinley, CEO of Screenmasters, about the Rockster product range. The Australian distribution partner, situated in Bathurst, NSW with offices in Queensland and Western Australia, is providing different solutions in the crushing and screening sector. With the Rockster range, the company has entered a completely new market segment and is now also responding to different needs in the compact crushing class.
Founded in 1995 by Michael McGinley and Mick Lagan, Screenmasters Australia has established a full assortment of mobile crushing and screening equipment for almost all applications and in different weight classes. What was still missing in the past years was an adequate solution for the compact class, for it showed out that choosing the right machine in this segment was no easy task. “We had been looking for this type and size of machine for a long time,” says McGinley. “As with other companies we represent, we had no desire to buy a R900 with Screenboxmachine that we were going to have a huge amount of warranty issues with, so it was better to wait until the manufacturer has taken all the ‘bugs’ out of the machine before we bring it all the way to Australia.” Finally, at the Bauma exhibition in Germany, the Australian crusher expert discovered what he was looking for so long. The Rockster machines seemed to be the perfect match and to fit ideally in the existing assortment. After having seen the machines also in real application and impressed by the surpassing performance of the compact crushers Screenmasters opted for the dealership and brought the first machine, a Rockster impact crusher R900, to Australia. As perfect option for the R900 and for maximum quality of the final product also the screenbox RS83 with return belt has been added. “We chose the screen in a closed circuit as an extra for one simple reason: a defined product,” explains McGinley “We can take 400 mm feed and reduce it to 20 mm minus. For anyone else to do that they have to bring 3 machines to site, transport them, fuel and maintain them. The Rockster does it in one machine this is more attractive to a marketplace that is very price sensitive.” Currently the R900 with screenbox is processing in asphalt. But there are many other applications waiting for the Rockster crusher in Australia: from river gravel, concrete demolition and recycling, sandstone up to real hard rock applications. “The Rockster machine can do many different applications, albeit at smaller production rates,” so McGinley. “This has enabled us to enter a different market segment and make us more competitive.” |
