Australian Waste & Recycling Expo (AWRE) 2017

August 23 @ 9:00 AM - August 24 @ 5:00 PM

$20
the AWRE brings the best exhibitors together

The Australasian Waste & Recycling Expo (AWRE) is an open forum for businesses to network, discuss and interact with the latest products and trends available to the Australasian waste and recycling marketplace. Recycling methods have pushed their way to the precipice of environmental industry discussion. This means new innovations within waste management can have a serious impact on the productivity and profitability of resource and trade businesses.

Visitors

In 2017 the AWRE will invite visitors to attend a stream of seminars that will investigate the world of resources, environmental sustainability and future of the waste management and recycling industry. These seminars will be lead by industry professionals, leaders and thinkers, and aspire to leave attendees with a coherent understanding of the direction waste management is heading towards.

Throughout the dedicated industry zones there will be several meeting points for attendees to network with industry peers and make new connections. Areas like the ENVIRO Lounge and the Central Networking Bar will give exhibitors, speakers and delegates a common place to meet and discuss ideas.

The Towards Zero Landfill initiative will return in 2017, closing in on its goal to recycle or reuse 100% of the waste that the show produces during the course of the event. It’s a practice what you preach project that hopes to reach a carbon footprint number close to zero by this year’s event.

Exhibitors

The AWRE is the biggest dedicated waste and recycling industry event in Australia. Exhibitors are invited to introduce their product or service to a concentrated audience and to genuine sales leads. The exhibition will also provides customers and businesses an opportunity to meet face-to-face, allowing for a tangible and interactive representation of your product or idea.

Visit the AWRE exhibitor information page if you’re interested in applying for space at this year’s event.

Tickets

Visitors must preregister online to attend the AWRE Exhibition free of charge. A $20 door charge will apply to exhibition visitors who have not preregistered.

How To Get There

Car park update

Construction of Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre’s (MCEC) new multi-purpose building is currently underway alongside Convention Centre Place, opposite South Wharf DFO and Hilton Melbourne South Wharf.

Please note that building entrances, pedestrian footpaths, vehicle access and bicycle routes may be altered during the construction period. We encourage you to follow the directional signage in place to navigate around the construction zone.

Car parking spaces are currently limited within the surrounding construction zone, and in particular, the Exhibition Centre car park (entry off Normanby Road) quickly reaches capacity on busy event days.

We recommend parking at the Siddeley Street Car Park located off Wurundjeri Way which is a short walk across Seafarers Bridge to MCEC.

Travelling by public transport

By tram

Catch any of the following trams and get off at the stop opposite the Clarendon Street entrance of MCEC:

  • Route 96 – St Kilda to East Brunswick
  • Route 109 – Port Melbourne to Box Hill
  • Route 12 – Victoria Gardens to St Kilda

Alternatively catch tram number 48 or 70 and get off at the Flinders Street stop. Then take a short walk towards the Yarra River, across the Seafarers Bridge. For further tram timetable information and trip planning, visit the Victorian Public Transport website here.

By train

Take any train that goes to Southern Cross Station. Get off at Southern Cross Station and catch tram number 96, 109 or 12 as above. For further train timetable information and trip planning, visit the Victorian Public Transport website here.

By bus

The SkyBus transports visitors directly from Melbourne Airport to Southern Cross train station.

Bus route 237 operates from Queen Victoria Market, via Southern Cross Station to Lorimer Street South Wharf from Monday to Friday. Lormier Street is approximately a five minute walk to MCEC. There is also a coach pick up/drop off point at Bay 1, Convention Centre Place (closest to DFO South Wharf).

For further bus timetable information and trip planning, visit the Victorian Public Transport website.
