Come April 2017, the planes at Bairnsdale Aerodrome will be grounded, but pigs will fly. The East Gippsland Field Days will return to the home its helped grow over the past 27 years. The Farm and Agriculture show continues to invest money into improving the venue and growing the show, hoping to see crowds succeed 10,000 at this years event.
The Victorian East Gippsland Field Days attracts local farmers from every discipline. The region holds close to 750,000ha of beef, wool, vegetable, crops and dairy farmlands, as well as space for new markets such as flower production and viticulture. Such a diverse range of farmers means that there’s a necessary market for every farming niche within the region. This is where the EGPD does its service.
The two-day festival puts farming machinery and equipment on spectacle for the visitors in the market. Combining local retailers and original equipment manufacturers within the exhibitors marquee, industry attendees can get a feel of the newest tractors or peruse the attachments available for existing models.
Visitors will find a huge selection of ride on and push mowers between the farming machinery, as well as water tanks, compact 4WD mowers and agriculture hand tools. This year the nations fastest pigs will also be in attendance. Hitting an event designed track, the Show’s race will establish the who’s who of professional pig racing.
There are more than 350 exhibitor spaces available at the East Gippsland Field Days and the event planners are expecting 10,000+ visitors to trample the grounds in 2017. The eclectic demands of the region means that there’s an opportunity for any type of farm or agriculture business to meet and converse with potential new customers. The event is currently hiring out sites, Marquees, tables, chairs, flooring and other utilities to help exhibitors set up their commercial spaces to suit their needs.
