IICA Technological Expo (Wollongong) 2017

The Institute of Instrumentation, Control and Automation will run a series of technological expos throughout 2017 starting with a four hour event at Wollongong on the 9th of March. The expos will focus on the latest developments within the instrumentation, control and automation industries. These exhibitions and seminars invite workers from any industry where machinery plays an important role, to learn about how the internal circuits and innovations within machinery promote safety and self-management.


Attending the IICA expos can benefit both members and non-members just looking to learn a little more about instrumentation, control and automation. The Wollongong exhibition will feature more than 40 exhibitors from the industry and invites visitors to peruse and discuss the products on display in a friendly, casual environment.

The types of products finding their way to IICA expos include sensors that measure flow, level, pressure, temperature etc, controllers (PID & simple), signal conditioners (Isolators & Converters) & transducers, automation devices such as PLCs, variable speed drives, servo motors, as well as other safety and measurement systems.

Visitors to the IICA technological expo are also given the opportunity to meet other figures from the industry. The event will provide a forum for networking and will allow visitors from all levels of the industry to make important connections. With a focus on educating and discussing the legislation that impacts the industry within Australia, the IICA expos are a must attend for anyone with a stake in the instrumentation, control and automation field.

Patrons attending events at WIN Entertainment Centre and WIN Stadium are advised that the precinct can be busy and congested.

Patrons are encouraged to;

  • Leave plenty of travel time to arrive at the venue
  • Consider public transport options
  • Consider being dropped off
  • Park legally and considerately

Patrons travelling to the venues on the Freeway, are encouraged to use the Masters Road exit to avoid congestion at Mount Ousley Road both into and out of Wollongong.

The Wollongong train station is a 10 to 15 minute walk from the venue. Some local buses stop and pick up from the Harbour Street side of the venue.

Wollongong’s FREE Gong Shuttle bus makes it easy to get around Wollongong’s City Centre. The service operates between 7:00am and 10:00pm from Monday to Friday.

Every 10 minutes during peak (7:00am – 9:00am & 3:00pm – 6:00pm) and every 20 minutes off-peak.

The weekend service will operate every 20 minutes between 8:00am and 6:00pm.

On Dragons event days, a shuttle service runs between the Wollongong Train Station and WIN Stadium . The free Courtesy Bus starts two (2) hours before NRL kick-off. The bus picks up from Wollongong Station and makes its way down Burelli Street to WIN Stadium, Wollongong. The frequency of the bus runs to the train timetable of City Rail both ways.

At the conclusion of the game the bus makes return trips from WIN Stadium to Wollongong Station for up to one (1) hour post match.

A taxi rank is located across the road from WIN Stadium outside the Steelers Club on Burelli Street. There is also an additional taxi rank located adjacent the WIN Entertainment Centre on the corner of Crown & Harbour Streets.

Secure taxi ranks, staffed by a security guard from 11.30pm – 4.00am are located on Corrimal Street, and on the corner of Crown and Kembla Streets.


There are approximately 1,200 parking spaces located within close proximity, and only a few minutes walking distance, from WIN Stadium and WIN Entertainment Centre;
