The 2017 Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show will bless the World Heritage Site at the Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens with the scent of blossoming flowers from the 29th March – 2nd April. To celebrate the event’s 22nd annual Show, the MIFGS will assemble the country’s best landscape and floral artists to pay tribute to Australia’s native fauna and outdoor lifestyle.
The event in 2017 will celebrate Australia’s lifestyle trends, running shows and demonstrations to instill attendees with new ideas for floral spreads and flowery fashion. The Achievable Gardens Design Competition will give horticulture students and educational institutions a chance to prove their design skills while giving visitors an opportunity to see how bright minds are utilising low maintenance plant species in creative spaces.
The international Show will connect garden enthusiasts with key landscape designers and industry leaders in a casual environment. Exhibitors and artists will cover the event grounds with stalls that will offer bulbs, plants, seeds and tools alongside flowery artisan wares. Live entertainment and a high tea garden will provide visitors some downtime between their garden browsing.
After an established 22 years, the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show is expecting to attract more than 105,000 Show visitors across the five days. The Show balances living art and the Australian outdoor ethos to reach a diverse field of enthusiasts and professionals, presenting an opportunity for businesses working within the field to make new connections and showcase their product, art or service. The MIFGS will offer both Landscape and Floral Design spaces as well as regular indoor retail sites.
