‘I live in Canberra, but I’m no politician, I’m not politically correct, never was, never will be.’ The words couldn’t be a banner for anything other than other the Street Machine Summernats Car Festival. Summernats is the ultimate gathering of revheads and horsepower fanatics, with a unique Australian twist.
The car fiesta is the Frankenstein of legendary auto-enthusiast Chic Henry, first premiering all the way back in 1988. The event has since evolved into a battleground, now attracting more than 1800 of the toughest Australian street machines to the Summernats home at the EPIC (Exhibition Park in Canberra) where crowds of over 100,000 people form to celebrate burning rubber and rock n roll.
Summernats will hit three decades of fire, smoke and street machine pilgrimage in 2018. The milestone will not go unnoticed as Summernats is planning their biggest event yet. Capturing the Australian ethos over four days of car events, camping and music, the only car event of its kind will have something for everyone in 2018.
The main attractions of the event will include the fire-bringing burnout competition, the horsepower heroes challenge that measures the HP of beastly muscle-cars, the Summernats city cruise and fan favourite, the Miss Summernats 2018. There will also be stacks of merchandise on sale from trade specialists and auto part manufacturers.
The Summernats car festival gives auto-traders and businesses in the industry the opportunity to directly engage with customers in a casual, motorsport environment. The event has seen numbers reach 100,000 in previous years and will continue to connect companies with customers, serving as an open market where businesses can demonstrate their products and services.
There will be both indoor and outdoor exhibitor sites that will offer flexible floor plans to high volume traffic zones. Exhibition sites can be customised to meet individual needs where the floor plan allows it. To find out more contact the Summernats office on 02 6241 8111 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
