Elmore’s biggest farming festival is just around the corner and it’s anticipated to be their best one yet (if mother nature allows it!). So, if you’re as excited as we are to be going, then you’ll want to check out our list of must-see attractions at this years Elmore Field Days! Here’s what you can expect to see this year:
A true crowd favorite over the years, The Vintage Tractor Parade has become one of the most popular events on the Elmore Field Day calendar. There’s nothing like seeing these old beauties marching together in full working order. This year, two Australian Tractors will be taking the spotlight with a circa 1950 Chamberlain 55KA 55hp Tractor and late 1950s Chamberlain Super 90 72hp fitted tractor with a two stroke GM engine leading the pack.
For some, watching these working pieces of memorabilia on display can be a humbling experience. With a tonne of the latest and best tractor machinery on display across the field days, the Vintage Tractor Parade gives us a chance to see just how far machinery technology has come over the years.
Other than the vintage tractor show, there will also be a tonne of in-paddock machinery demos and exhibitions throughout the days.
Perfectly timed alongside the school holidays, this years field days promises to provide a great day out for the kids as well. There will be a tonne of free activities for the kids throughout the event; with jumping castles, face painting, wood crafting, colouring competitions and balloon artists operating throughout the festival.
Also anticipated and coming back after popular demand, Quirky Tales performer, Narelle Stone, will be back to read stories on stage for children young and old to enjoy.
Children under the age of 12 receive free entry to Elmore Field Days.
A rising talent in Australia’s country music scene, Jemma Beech, will be performing daily throughout the festival. Recently touring with the Sunny Cowgirls in 2016, Ms. Beech is now working on recording her debut ep that is expected to be released at Tamworths Country Music Festival early next year.
Ms. Beech will be performing from 11 am each day and will be performing some of her latest songs, as well as her favorite country covers.
Another popular event is Elmore’s Ag Arts Wear competition that brings to life wonderful works of fashion art. According to the creator of the Ag Arts Wear competition, Lorrain Trewick, the idea behind these eye-catching outfits is that the art is made entirely out of materials you can typically find out on a farm. Some past winners have innovatively utilised everything from animal bones to bail twines and tractor tyre tubes to produce amazing pieces of fashion art.
During the Field Days, these unique garments will be paraded down a catwalk and, as past events have shown, the show is a proven crowd please-er. The parades will run twice a day at 11 am and 2 pm in the Auditorium, with finalists being announced on Thursday at 2 pm.
