It is the result of many years of development between the Construction Mining and Equipment Industry Group (CMEIG) and Exhibitions and Trade Fairs (ETF).

Ali Mead, Event Director at ETF, said bringing together the national construction industry in this way reflected the sector’s growth and evolution.

“Data from the Australia Infrastructure Audit shows that the Australian Government intends to heavily invest in infrastructure in the next 15 years. The Chairman of Infrastructure Australia, Mark Birrell, has said that the Infrastructure Priority List identifies 100 major proposals with substantial strategic merit and national importance, and that ‘this is the infrastructure Australia needs to boost our quality of life and our economy’. These very strong statements make it the perfect timing to bring the industry together at this national NCEC event.

“The construction industry’s future – worldwide, not just in Australia – depends on the sector’s ability to embrace new processes and technology. That’s where NCEC comes in: NCEC will present a global showcase of cutting-edge technology, display construction-related products and demonstrate equipment. Exhibitors will have access to thousands of decision makers in the Australian construction industry and those responsible for infrastructure.”

Ms Mead said the new show was “no longer just a state-based trade exhibition”.

“NCEC will be much more to the industry and to our clients. The combined redevelopment and rebrand will set NCEC apart from other events, offering exhibitors, visitors and industry bodies more opportunities to do business. These include an interactive floor display, new business opportunities including an Opening Ceremony, Business Leaders Breakfast with a government presence, international pavilions and a dynamic ‘Tech Zone’.”

Ms Mead said strategic partners will be a major contributor to the inaugural NCEC’s success, with the event bringing strategic partners and industry bodies together through concurrent events and conferences.

“Bringing partners from the construction industry will give exhibitors the opportunity to reach membership audiences from industry bodies, and makes NCEC invaluable for Australian construction equipment suppliers and manufacturers.”

NCEC will be officially launched before the end of 2017.
