{"id":22999,"date":"2018-05-10T10:17:53","date_gmt":"2018-05-10T00:17:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.machines4u.com.au\/mag\/?p=22999"},"modified":"2018-11-11T21:41:04","modified_gmt":"2018-11-11T11:41:04","slug":"end-road-richardson-bros-transport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.machines4u.com.au\/mag\/end-road-richardson-bros-transport\/","title":{"rendered":"End of the road for Richardson Bros Transport"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"line-height:1.5;\">\n<p class=\"intro\">Respected transport company Richardson Bros will wind up 30 years of carting livestock next month, sending all its trucks and crates to auction with Ritchie Bros.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Owner Tony Richardson said he still has a passion for trucks but, after decades on the road\u00a0and glued to his phone, it was time to concentrate on family and their farms.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe run\u00a0a number\u00a0of beef cattle on\u00a0the family farms\u00a0in central New South Wales so I won\u2019t be hanging up the boots just yet,\u201d\u00a0Mr\u00a0Richardson said.<\/p>\n<p>\n<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_4105-Copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"3648\" height=\"2432\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23001\" srcset=\"https:\/\/magmedia.machines4u.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/10101456\/IMG_4105-Copy.jpg 3648w, https:\/\/magmedia.machines4u.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/10101456\/IMG_4105-Copy-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/magmedia.machines4u.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/10101456\/IMG_4105-Copy-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/magmedia.machines4u.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/10101456\/IMG_4105-Copy-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/magmedia.machines4u.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/10101456\/IMG_4105-Copy-500x333.jpg 500w, https:\/\/magmedia.machines4u.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/10101456\/IMG_4105-Copy-360x240.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 3648px) 100vw, 3648px\" \/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p>Richardson Bros mainly serviced feedlots,\u00a0abattoirs\u00a0and rural properties\u00a0across New South Wales and south-east Queensland\u00a0out of its Rutherford depot,\u00a0and\u00a0proudly\u00a0employed many drivers with decades of experience including one\u00a0who had been\u00a0with the company since it started.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cTransport is\u00a0the best job in the world if you can manage the fatigue,\u201d\u00a0Mr\u00a0Richardson said. \u201cFor me, taking a load\u00a0of cattle\u00a0for a drive is nearly as good as a holiday!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Richardson Bros\u00a0will sell its last\u00a0six prime movers and eight sets of B-Double stock crates\u00a0at\u00a0auction on May 17.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI chose to sell with Ritchie Bros. because they\u2019re true to their word and fulfil their promises and I\u2019m more than comfortable working with them,\u201d Mr Richardson said.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Ritchie Bros.\u00a0Territory Manager Adam Doyle said the late model trucks and three deck stock crates were extremely well maintained.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve had an unprecedented level of interest in this gear because Tony\u2019s name is so well regarded and he really looks after his\u00a0assets,\u201d\u00a0Mr\u00a0Doyle said.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe stock crates \u2013 including Cannon, Truck Art and Byrne \u2013 were custom built.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019ll be an emotional sale for Tony and his family \u2013 the end of an era but also a fresh start.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Respected transport company Richardson Bros will wind up 30 years of carting livestock next month, sending all its trucks and crates to auction with Ritchie Bros.
