CCF QLD Heavy Equipment and Machinery Show 2025

The Heavy Equipment and Machinery Show (HEMS) presented by the Civil Contractors Federation Queensland (CCF QLD) is a biennial expo for all things civil construction and heavy equipment held at the Brisbane Showgrounds. Starting from humble beginnings, the event has since grown to be the biggest civil construction event in Queensland.

This year the Machines4U team attended the show, and it was no disappointment. The 3-day event was packed with exhibitors displaying their machinery, software and systems with contractors, dealers, sole traders and families showing up in droves!

“HEMS was a great event to be part of; it was the first year we [Machines4U] have attended and it was great to be part of the industry in this way,” said Jacob Scott, Machines4U staff member.

A real highlight of the show for our team was meeting people from all walks of life and all aspects of the industry.

“In my position I speak to sellers who are sole traders, hobbyists and machinery enthusiasts but what the expo highlighted was how multi-generational this space is and how much history there is here,” said Jacob.

“I had a great chat with a gentleman who was wearing a hat from the 1979 Truck Show and he joked that this must be the oldest hat at the show! It was great to see him so enthusiastic and still attending the show all these years later.”

“It’s a real testament to the community that CCF has created and how the industry looks forward to these events,” said Jacob.

Remote Control Excavator Giveaway Winners

Across the 3-day event, the Machines4U team ran a giveaway for the chance to win a remote control excavator.

Alivia (left image) and Callum (right image) were the winners of the giveaway and collected their prizes at the event on Saturday 17th May.

“You made my whole weekend,” said Callum from Australian Concrete Mats. Alivia couldn’t believe her luck and was thrilled to be chosen as a winner.

How Machines4U is Impacting the Industry

It’s clear the show is a crowd favourite on the civil construction calendar with buyers and sellers alike stopping to chat to Machines4U.

Jacob spoke to a Machines4U buyer, Logan, while at the event and learnt how our machinery marketplace is opening doors for people in the industry.

“I bought a used machine from Machines4U a couple of years ago, and it really opened the door for me in the industry. The used market allowed me to get into the machinery business, and has allowed me to continue to grow,” said Logan.

We look forward to attending the next Heavy Equipment and Machinery Show in 2027! Until then, browse construction machinery for sale here.
