IVECO Daily wins 2026 Fleet Truck of the Year – Light Duty
Presented by IVECO
The IVECO Daily 50C Cab Chassis has impressed judges in Fleet News Group’s inaugural fleet awards, taking out the 2026 Fleet Truck of the Year – Light Duty.
Making the win more special was that the judging panel consisted predominantly of experienced fleet managers, with a high focus during evaluation placed on real world performance, value and manufacturer support in a fleet environment.
While the Daily proved a capable all-round performer, judges noted that the truck stood out for its high driver comfort levels, something that can easily be overlooked in commercial vehicle selection.
Each truck was scored against six weighted criteria. Driving and on-road experience accounted for 20 per cent of the result, while engine and transmission options also contributed 20 per cent. Chassis and suspension options, sustainability and safety, manufacturer support, and workspace ergonomics each carried a 15 per cent weighting.
Fleet News Group Award judges said:
“The driving experience is much closer to a car or van than a conventional truck, making it easy to settle into and less intimidating for drivers who may not spend every day in a light-duty truck…
The Daily’s combination of commercial capability, a comfortable driving experience and a class-leading cabin was enough to put it at the top of the scorecard.”
In commenting on the award, IVECO National Manager – Fleet Sales, James Johnson, said it was extremely satisfying for the Daily to be recognised in the inaugural Fleet News Group Awards.
“This award reinforces what our customers tell us every day: the Daily delivers an outstanding blend of driver comfort, productivity, safety and operating efficiency,” James said.
“To have these qualities acknowledged and confirmed through reputable third-party testing is extremely satisfying. Even more gratifying is that the awards were judged mainly by fleet managers – these are people with intrinsic knowledge of what it takes to successfully run capital equipment to get the greatest productivity from their investment.”
The latest generation Daily range was revised earlier this year and continues to evolve to meet the needs of Australian fleet operators. With a broad selection of wheelbase options available, GVMs of up to 7.2t, dual cab and work-ready variants along with 4×4 models – all backed by comprehensive national support – there’s a Daily cab chassis or van model for just about every light market fleet application.
