SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — Semco Group, an Australian owned national distributor within the construction and earthmoving equipment sector, today announced a pivotal leadership transition. After more than 30 years at the helm, co-founders Peter Esse and Graham Murphy have formally stepped down from day-to-day operations. In a strategic and seamless succession, long-standing Chief Operating Officer Steve Zivkovich has been appointed as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 July 2025.

A Legacy Carried Forward

Incoming CEO Steve Zivkovich is no stranger to Semco. With over 30 years of service and deep operational experience, Zivkovich has long been regarded as one of the driving forces behind the company’s sustained growth and performance.
“It is an incredible honour to be entrusted with this role,” said Zivkovich. “I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Peter, Graham and Satch over many years. They built more than a company—they built a culture of care, trust and resilience. I am committed to carrying that legacy forward with integrity and ambition.”

Honouring a Founding Vision

The transition comes with a sense of reflection and gratitude for the leaders who shaped the company, including the late Satch Santilli who is remembered as a one of the founders and CEO for many years.
Graham Murphy added, “We couldn’t be prouder of the foundation we built together, and we have full confidence that Steve will continue to drive the business forward with the same values that defined Semco from day one.”

The Future of Semco

With Zivkovich at the helm, Semco Group is poised to build on its strong foundation while investing in future growth, operational excellence and deeper industry partnerships. The company remains focused on delivering the highest standard of equipment, service and support to customers across Australia.
