The 4 different options to manage content on Machines4U
Machines4U accommodates businesses of all sizes. It doesn’t matter if you need to manage 5, 50 or 500 listings, there is an option to suit your needs.
The 4 options for content management include:
- Manual uploading
- CSV upload
- Third-party aggregators
- API connection
These methods each have their benefits and work for different situations. So which of these will best suit your business? Let’s look at each option in more detail below.
How To Get The Most From Manual Uploading

Manual uploading involves you or your sales team logging in to Machines4U and uploading the content straight into our system. It’s a simple system that works if you have the time and don’t have too many machines to list.

Uploading manually is one thing, but getting the most from this system is another. So, to get the most from a manual upload, you’ll want to dedicate this task to the person who has the best knowledge about the machine. The best results come from sales people managing listings themselves, because they have the expertise to put in all of the details, photos and videos that will appeal to buyers.
Who Can Benefit From Using A CSV System

Our CSV system is for those who want to upload multiple listings at once from one easy spreadsheet. It’s ideal if you already have a spreadsheet of all of your machinery, as you can simply import it in one bulk upload.
Now, there is still a manual aspect to CSV uploading because you will need to manually import the spreadsheet into MyMachines4U. It’s a great option if you want to list or update your machinery all at once. For example, if you’ve slashed your machinery prices for an end of financial year sale, you can update your listing prices using this method.

What Is A Third-Party Aggregator?
A third-party aggregator is a system you can use to upload your content automatically. This works by using a third-party site to load your content, which is then connected to Machines4U via XML or CSV, and pushes your content to the Machines4U platform without any manual work required.
Third-party aggregators allow users to upload and remove hundreds of listings with little effort! So, if you currently use a third-party listing or content aggregator, get in touch with your account manager to see if we support it.
The Best System For Near Real-Time Stock Syncing On Machines4U
If you’re serious about your online advertising and have hundreds of listings to get up and take off Machines4U regularly, such as an auction house, an API connection is the best content management tool for you. This option gets a little technical, so it’s great for companies who have the resources or development team available to write some html code on their end.
An API system is used to connect the Machines4U platform to your data. So that means when an ad is placed or removed on your side, it would automatically appear or disappear from Machines4U. The API is the best option for near real-time stock syncing.
If you’re unsure which of these methods suits your business, reach out and have a chat with your account manager, who will be able to guide you in the right direction.
While getting your content online is vital, the next step is even more important: and that’s checking your leads. So make sure you log in a few times a month to see which listings are working, which you should update and which could be improved.
In the next module, you’ll learn a bit more about how Machines4U started and evolved to where it is today!
