2015 Tarus CNC milling machine, bought new by Holden in Port Melbourne. Holden used it very little before their site closed during lockdown. Since then it has been our main machine for large-scale polystyrene sculptures and patterns, and it has been reliable throughout.

- Spindle: 26 kW HSK 63, with new bearings and re-balanced in September 2026. 12,000RPM Max
- Drives: Bosch Rexroth linear motors, quick and accurate for a machine of this size

- Materials: Handles metals, plastics and timber as well as foam
- Deck: Cast steel, approx. 20 tonnes, built by Marand Precision Engineering, with precision dowel holes and threaded holes throughout for work holding

Installation:
Holden set the machine and deck into a recess in their floor so jobs could be rolled on and off; a photo of that setup is included. As we rent our site, we poured a reinforced concrete footing under the machine only and set the deck on concrete stumps. You can use either approach at your site.
Reason for sale:
We're buying our own factory, and the Tarus' footprint limits our choice of building. Our smaller CNC machines will continue our sculpting work, and the floor space will go to a spray booth and wet area as we bring those processes in-house. If you take a look at our (.kaber) you can see that our business has become so much more than just machining.
Pricing:
New replacement cost is roughly $1.7 million for the machine, $1 million for the deck and over $100,000 for the tooling. Listing price reflects that, and we're open to reasonable offers. If the right buyer doesn't come along, we may keep the machine and plan our new space around it.
Transport and setup:
We know this machine thoroughly and can help with decommissioning and recommissioning. We recommend MRA for transport and installation. Transport is not included in the price.
