Avant Versatach heavy duty log grapple, part number 580000A, purchased new in January 2021. Suits Avant articulated mini loaders in the 200 through 800 series.
This grapple has done almost no work. The original paint is still on the tines, which tells the story better than anything I can write. It was bought as a spare for our tree business and never got used. We're rationalising the fleet, so it's going.
Condition
Stored outside, so there is honest surface weathering on the tines and frame. Cosmetic only. Nothing is bent, cracked, seized or leaking.
Brand new hydraulic hoses have just been fitted. They were replaced as a precaution given the machine sat outdoors, not because they had failed.
A spare hydraulic ram is included in the sale. On an attachment this simple the ram is the only real wear item, so that is effectively a lifetime of service included.
Structurally it is a lump of Finnish steel with one cylinder on it. There is very little to go wrong and it should outlast several loaders.
About the machine
Genuine Avant Tecno product, manufactured in Finland, not an aftermarket copy. Heavy duty design with formed lower tines for gripping larger trunks. It also works as a rake for cleaning up debris and windrowing, and handles rock and rubble just as happily as timber.
New from the Australian distributor these are $4,980 plus GST before freight.
