321 stainless steel is a titanium-stabilized version of 304, offering superior high-temperature oxidation resistance (up to 1,500°F/900°C) and immunity to sensitization compared to 304. 304 is more cost-effective and available for general, low-temperature use, while 321 is ideal for exhaust systems, chemical processing, and thermal cycling applications.
