2 x Allweiler NTT65-250 U5A-W4 hot oil pumps.
These pumps are designed primarily for heat transfer applications, especially handling organic thermal oils (hot oil) at high temperatures.
Pumps were previously used on a thermal oil heater.
Performance and Operating Limits
Flow rate (Q): 150 m³/h
Head (H): 73m
Temperature: Up to 350°C for thermal oils.
A self-cooling design (no external cooling needed for the seal/bearings in many configurations) makes it ideal for hot oil circulation.
3 Phase, 45kW, 80A, 400V, 50Hz Electric Motor.
3\" Suction & 2.5\" Discharge.
Key Features and Design
Single-stage, end-suction centrifugal pump with axial inlet and radial discharge.
\"NTT\" designation: Indicates the thermal oil variant of the broader NT series. The \"TT\" emphasizes suitability for high-temperature heat-transfer fluids.
65 — Nominal discharge nozzle diameter: DN 65 mm
250 — Nominal impeller diameter: 250 mm.
U5A — Shaft seal: Uncooled, unbalanced mechanical seal with a safety (backup) stuffing box arranged in front. This is a standard, self-cooling design for high-temperature thermal oil service—no external cooling is required for the seal or bearings in typical applications. It includes a heat barrier to protect the seal from extreme temperatures.
W4 — Material combination: Typically cast iron for the volute casing, casing cover, and other pressure-containing parts. Suitable for non-corrosive, non-abrasive thermal oils.
Common Applications
Heat transfer systems in:
Chemical and petrochemical plants
Food processing
Rubber, asphalt/tar, wood, and soap/detergent industries
Community heating (district heating)
Marine and offshore
Hydrocarbon processing
It excels in closed-loop systems pumping hot thermal oils without abrasives or corrosive elements.
