Cat® Vibratory Plate Compactors are used for compacting soil, sand, or gravel prior to pouring concrete or laying asphalt surfaces. Their capabilities, combined with lower investment and maintenance costs, make them popular with pavers, general contractors, and utility contractors in residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Vibratory Plate Compactors are also ideal for asphalt patch work.

SUPERIOR COMPACTION FORCE
These units produce high-power impulses at a rate of 2,200 impacts per minute, driving soil particles closer together to create solid and stable compaction results.

PERFORMANCE MATCHED
Cat® Compactors are performance-matched to Cat machines. Brackets and hydraulic kits are interchangeable between hammers and compactors, and the compactors can be used with pin grabber, dedicated hydraulic, or pin lock couplers.

PROTECTED HYDRAULICS
Hydraulic hoses are protected within the compactor frame, and jumper lines are routed out the back. This design keeps hoses out of the way, even when working in tight trenches.

EASY MAINTENANCE
Oil changes are simplified through the rear centerline plug and can be completed while the compactor remains installed on the machine.

RUBBER ISOLATORS
Solid rubber bushings transfer the maximum amount of power to the ground while minimizing the impact and vibration transmitted to the machine.

OPTIONAL BACKFILL BLADE
An optional bolt-on backfill blade can be mounted on either the front or rear of the compactor, allowing operators to efficiently backfill trenches.

OPTIONAL SWIVEL PLATE
The optional bolt-on swivel plate allows the compactor to be manually rotated 90 degrees to the left or right, providing a total rotation range of 180 degrees and reducing the amount of machine repositioning required on the job site.

OPTIONAL POST/PLATE DRIVER
The optional post driver enables the compactor to drive posts up to 254 mm (10 in) in diameter, while the optional plate driver allows it to drive plates up to 152 mm (6 in) in size. These options are available on the CVP28 model only.
