A serious piece of machinery for a serious workshop. The CMS Power 200/150 CS33 is a high-performance 6-axis CNC router built by Italian manufacturer CMS/Balestrini, widely regarded as one of the world's leading producers of precision woodworking machinery. This machine was supplied new to Elan Constructions in Wetherill Park and has been used in the production of premium custom joinery.
The CS33 head is the standout feature of this machine. It rotates around two full axes (A and C) and carries three liquid-cooled electrospindles, including a 12kW unit with automatic tool change via HSK-F63 and two additional 9kW spindles with ER40 collets. The offset cross design allows the head to machine small-radius curved profiles without compromise, making it exceptionally capable on complex three-dimensional work.
The working envelope is generous. The Y axis runs to 3,000mm with a useful synchronised table surface of 2,000mm, the X/U axis reaches 2,550mm with a 1,500mm working dimension, and the Z axis provides 1,000mm of travel with 800mm useful depth. Rapid traverse speeds of up to 90m/min mean minimal dead time between operations.
The machine runs on an OSAI S10 510i numerical control system and ships with DDX Easy Wood CAM software, 3D simulation, and a full 3D CAD model of the machine in Para-solid format. Two automatic tool rack magazines provide 12 tool positions in total. A dual-table pendular cycle allows loading and unloading on one table while the other is in cut, keeping production moving continuously.
Also included is the NC Copy Lathe 150 attachment, which adds an interpolated rotary axis for turning and copy lathe work up to 1,000mm between centres.
The machine was supplied with a tooling package valued at €3,000 and a full suite of HSK 63F tool holders and collets. Documentation, manuals, and software are included.
