Denver's HG series lathes are designed for demanding heavy-duty machining applications. It combines straightforward operation with excellent rigidity, stability and load-bearing capacity, making it ideal for the heavy turning of moulds, gears, wheels, shafts, spindles and similar components.
Base
The rigid base is manufactured from high-quality Meehanite cast iron for heavy-duty cutting. Its robust construction provides increased load capacity and greater stability during machining.
Compound Rest
A four-point clamping system provides excellent compound-rest stability. The wide toolpost and top slide are induction-hardened and precision-ground to ensure accuracy and a long service life.
Spindle and Headstock
The headstock provides 12 spindle speeds, while the spindle is supported at three points by precision bearings. The gears and spindle are manufactured from high-quality alloy steel, heat-treated and precision-ground for superior hardness, strength and durability.
The spindle is available with either an 80 mm or 105 mm bore.
Gearbox
The metric and imperial gearbox supports metric, imperial, diametrical-pitch (DP), module-pitch (MP) and multiple-start thread cutting without requiring change gears. Its wide threading range and straightforward operation help improve productivity.
Imperial threading is available down to 2 TPI, providing a broader threading range and greater operating flexibility than many comparable lathes.
Carriage and Saddle
The bedway contact surfaces are lined with Turcite-B to reduce friction and wear. The dovetail slideway surfaces are induction-hardened and precision-ground to maintain accuracy and provide a long service life.
Apron
A forced-lubrication system ensures that the slideways receive consistent lubrication, helping maintain turning accuracy while reducing wear.
An integrated safety mechanism helps prevent collisions during operation.
Cross-Slide Screw
The cross-slide screw is supported at two points, providing the strength and stability required for heavy-duty turning.
Tailstock
A two-stage tailstock clamping system improves stability during heavy turning and drilling operations.
A two-stage feed mechanism provides greater control and easier operation.
