Advanced CNC Machining and Sawing for Structural Steel Fabrication
The FICEP XBLADE is a highly advanced CNC beam processing line designed for machining and cutting structural steel sections with exceptional accuracy and productivity.
Manufactured by FICEP, one of the world’s leading suppliers of structural steel fabrication machinery, the XBLADE integrates drilling, milling, tapping and disc sawing into a single automated system.
The machine is capable of processing structural steel beams with section sizes up to 305 × 305 mm on three sides and up to 450 × 450 mm on one side, with variable lengths thanks to its modular machine configuration.
This highly flexible machining system is ideal for fabricators requiring complex machining operations with minimal manual intervention.
Key Features
• Advanced CNC drilling, milling and disc sawing line
• Designed for processing structural steel beams and profiles
• High-precision machining with multi-axis capability
• Modular configuration for variable workpiece lengths
• Compact machine design with integrated electrical cabinet
Integrated Machining Capabilities
The FICEP XBLADE can perform multiple machining operations within a single automated process, including:
• Drilling
• Milling
• Countersinking
• Tapping
• Disc blade sawing
This integrated machining capability significantly reduces production time and eliminates multiple setup operations.
5-Axis Machining Head
The XBLADE features an advanced 5-axis machining head consisting of two rotating wrists that position the tool anywhere within the working envelope.
This allows the machine to perform three-axis machining operations even on inclined planes, greatly expanding the range of fabrication possibilities.
Disc Blade Sawing
The integrated disc blade saw expands the machine’s processing capabilities, enabling the XBLADE to machine and cut profiles in a single operation.
Combined with the 5-axis machining head, the system can work around the workpiece and perform machining operations on up to five faces without manual repositioning.
Automatic Tool Changer
The machine features a CNC-controlled tool changer system including:
• 8 positions for standard tools
• 2 positions for large tools
• 1 position for the 560 mm disc blade
This system allows multiple machining operations to be completed automatically.
Material Handling System
The XBLADE is equipped with roller supports and repositionable vices that securely hold the material during machining operations.
The vices can be positioned along the X-axis and locked into position using pneumatic cylinders to ensure stable and precise machining.
Compact Machine Design
The machine has a compact industrial design, with the following systems integrated into the machine frame:
• Electrical cabinet
• Spindle cooling system
• Air conditioning system
This integrated design simplifies installation and optimises factory floor space.
Advanced Programming Software
Through FICEP Steel Project software, profile nesting can be programmed and optimised for maximum production efficiency.
Using integrated CAM software, ISO programs can be generated quickly and the machining cycle can be launched with ease.
