The RT trench roller with the SC4 remote control provides proven compaction performance with greater serviceability, durability, and a best-in-class operator experience. With greater access to hydraulic components and fewer parts, the RT trench roller offers high reliability and a lower cost of ownership. The intuitive remote control with an LCD display puts the data and controls in the operator’s hands, eliminating the need to enter trenches, which enhances worksite safety.

Infrared Line-of-Sight
Operator and controller must be pointed at the machine in order to drive, increasing awareness and safety on the jobsite. Operator and machine safety are at the forefront through proximity operation which keeps the operator 2m to 20m away from the machine in order to operate.

All-in-One Personal Remote Control
All machine start-up and operation controls are located in the hands of the operator, removing the hazards of operating compaction equipment inside a trench or near other equipment. Through the enhanced radio signal, the machine is able to communicate with the remote control, which uses an LCD display to show the operator the machine status, maintenance reminders, and error codes to aid in troubleshooting.

Patent Pending Return to Center
The machine will guide itself back to traveling in a straight line, without operator assistance, which is beneficial when working in applications with extended trenches, such as utility work. The operator can turn this function on and off with a push of a button on the remote control.

Tip Over Protection
If the machine is nearing its tipping angle, the operator will be alerted with a pre-tip notification on the remote control’s LED screen. In the event that the machine does tip over, an alarm will be transmitted and the engine will shut down. A two step unlocking process through the remote control protects the machine from engine damage that can occur by being started after tip-over.

Service Accessibility
Hydraulic components, motors, and connections are located on the outside of the drum making them more accessible. Maintenance-free, the permanently lubricated exciter and drive systems require no oil changes for the first life, reducing downtime and total cost of ownership. Wide opening hoods provide easy access to all other machine components, reducing time and effort for daily cleaning and maintenance tasks.
