Wood-Mizer LT40, 20 hours of operation and in mint condition

The LT40 Hydraulic is a professional portable sawmill capable of lasting a lifetime and withstanding generations of sawing. The sawmill is completely portable and ready for road travel with a standard single axle trailer, currently registered in Tasmania. Six adjustable outriggers allow for quick set-up and simple rough levelling of the bed prior to sawing. The patented open side of the LT40HD saw-head allows for minimal levelling during set-up, easy off-bearing with the trapezoid shaped bed, and sawing of odd shaped logs. All log handling functions are hydrauliy driven and controlled from a centralized station at the front of the sawmill.

Loaded and turned hydrauliy with loading arms and a steel claw turner, logs are secured onto the bed by four side supports and a heavy-duty hydraulic log clamp. Two hydraulic roller toe-boards assist with precise levelling of the log on the bed for tapered logs. SimpleSet Setworks and powered head controls position the saw head height to prepare for sawing. With SimpleSet, sawyers can program two exact board thicknesses and SimpleSet will automatiy move the head into position for the next cut to produce timber more quickly and accurately. Once the blade is engaged, the saw head advances through the log with the power feed control that includes variable speed for optimal sawing control. A water tank feeds lubrication to the blade to improve cutting performance and keep the blade clean. The adjustable blade guide arm keeps the blade well supported while cutting various sized material. Blade tension is easily adjusted, and keeps the blade at the proper tension for cutting.

Powered by a Perkins diesel engine with the sawmill only having been operated for approximately 20 hours and was used to slab 10 tonnes of tea tree, myrtle, blackwood, sassafras, wattle and huon pine. Comes with .045 x 1.25 x 158 with a 7-degree carbide tooth configuration blades. The protective wrap on the log supports indicates just how little work has been done with this mill.
