Manitowoc specialise in the manufacture of products for the construction and food service industries. When they were established by Charles West and Elias Gunnell in 1902, they operated as a shipbuilding and ship repair company. And it was just in the mid-1920s when they've decided to broaden their services and branch out into the crane and refrigeration equipment businesses. Finally, in 2016, they separated into two companies: the Manitowoc Foodservice, Inc. (MFS) and the Manitowoc Company, Inc. (MTW).
