Founded in 1967 by a businessman by the name of Kim Woo-Choong, Daewoo began as a manufacturer of mechanical and electrical engineering, petrochemicals, shipbuilding, and military initiatives. In the late 1980's till the early 1990's, the company began producing consumer electronics, telecommunication products, computers, construction equipment, and pianos. They are active in the mentioned markets, but they somewhat made a significant "push" and succeeded in the construction equipment sector, producing functional machinery that are specifically designed to meet the requirements of their international clients.
