Biesse Intermac Edge Pro Q 410 Flexible grinder
Double station, flexible machine for high quality edge polishing on big sized, straight or shaped glass pieces
Intermac Edge Pro Q 410 is an edge polishing machine designed to process all four sides simultaneously on a large glass piece
or sequentially on two smaller pieces at the same time, delivering a perfectly finished result in a single step.
Engineered for high versatility, it efficiently handles large, out-of-square, and shaped glass.
Its innovative heads, each equipped with 10 cup wheels, ensure a flawless, brilliant edge finish.
With a batch-one design, the machine enables seamless sequential processing of different glass sizes and thicknesses without the need for manual adjustments or operator intervention.
From every size to every thickness
The machine redefines batch-one production with unparalleled flexibility, seamlessly processing glass sheets of varying dimensions in succession without the repositioning delays typical of conventional double-sided edging machines.
All adjustments, including head positioning and vacuum cup realignment, are performed automatically during hidden time, ensuring a continuous and efficient workflow.
Smaller footprint, greater flexibility
The compact design of the machine provides a major advantage for integration into a flexible production line.
With a significantly smaller footprint than a traditional double-sided edging line, it efficiently processes all four sides of the glass without compromising performance.
Versatile, Efficient and Safe
With this machine, you can process straight or shaped glass in sizes up to 3370x12000mm for a single piece and 3370x5700mm for simultaneous processing of two pieces*, with thicknesses up to 25mm, all without the need for manual adjustments.
Its intelligent design enables the processing of shaped glass with 3 to 8 sides, making it a highly versatile polishing system suited for diverse applications.
Additionally, it can automatically apply different finishes to each side of the same glass.
Thanks to its vacuum holding system, which secures the glass from the bottom, it ensures safe processing of low-E glass without any risk of damaging the coating.
*Subject to variations depending on the shape.
Precision at every angle
Thanks to its independent 4 heads design, mounted on separate axes, the machine delivers unmatched versatility, seamlessly processing out-of-square pieces and shaped glass with 3 to 8 sides.
Ideal for applications such as balustrades, partition walls, and bespoke projects, its capabilities are further enhanced with the addition of an NC router, enabling precise machining of radiuses and curvilinear shapes.
Two Pieces, One Perfect Finish
Thanks to its independent head design, each equipped with 10 wheels, this system delivers an exceptional polishing finish in less time, rivalling the quality of double-sided edging machines.
Its ability to process two glass pieces simultaneously, even of different sizes or shapes, doubles productivity, making it an unmatched solution for flexible glass processing.
A fixed bar with rollers and an upper presser system effectively minimize vibrations during processing, especially beneficial for machining thin glass sheets.
Additionally, an automatic polishing wheel positioning and wear control system ensures consistent and uniform polishing throughout the entire production process.
Perfect Alignment, Perfect Edges.
A mechanical reference system, integrated into the main conveyor frame with suction beams, ensures long-term reliability and repeatability in sheet positioning.
For irregularly shaped glass, an automated mechanical lever activates to precisely measure the sheet’s angle, while three additional levers beneath the grinding heads verify the workpiece dimensions.
This advanced system guarantees exceptional accuracy and consistency throughout the entire processing cycle.
Effortless machine control
The advanced Human Machine Interface, designed specifically for flat glass processing, provides operators with an intuitive and user-friendly experience for daily operations.
Programming can be performed in three modes:
Manual: The operator enters data into the Human Machine Interface
Sequential: Data is automatically received from the previous machine in the production line.
Online: Data is transmitted from the supervisor software.
The integrated CAD-CAM software streamlines programming, enabling the creation of complex geometries and the seamless application of finishing parameters.
Additionally, the system features a statistics and configuration function, allowing operators to monitor machine performance with precision and efficiency.
Polished Edge
The primary application of the machine is the production of polished-edge glass.
Its configuration with 10 wheels ensures a flawlessly finished polished edge and threads, achieved through dedicated diamond and polishing wheels.
Industrial Finish
An industrial finish can be achieved by deactivating the dedicated polishing wheels, thereby increasing processing speed and boosting productivity.
Using diamond cup wheels, this system delivers an industrial finish comparable to that of peripheral wheel systems.
Low-E / coated glass processing
Thanks to the glass holding system with vacuum cups and the processing support system on the underside of the glass, low-E glass can be processed without any risk of damaging the coated surface.
