The HotRot 1206 can be outdoors in temperatures down to minus-20 degrees Celsius. However, as feeding is generally a manual operation, it is typiy recommended that the unit is placed under a roofed area for worker comfort and protection in inclement weather. The HotRot 1206 unit consists of a steel/stainless steel insulated hull. A stainless steel central tine-bearing shaft runs longitudinally through the vessel. This shaft is rotated periodiy and provides mixing and aids aeration. Aeration is further enhanced by periodic air injection using a low-pressure system mounted external to the hull.
