Hoist Related Questions
What is the recommend ceiling height of a hoist?
The recommended ceiling height of a hoist is based on being able to physically install the hoist. You’ll also need to consider how much space you’ll have to work with underneath the vehicle once lifted from the hoist.
The height of your vehicle from the jacking point to the roof + the maximum lifting height of the hoist is the maximum ceiling height that would be required to lift your vehicle.
Most people will not need to lift the hoist to the maximum lifting height to work on a vehicle comfortably and in most situations, you’ll be able to work underneath the vehicle as long as your shed meets the minimum ceiling height requirement.
Which hoist is the best option for me?
The main factors for selecting a hoist are. The area that you’ll be storing the hoist, the weight of your vehicles and what you’ll be using the hoists for. If you know the answer to all of these, call our helpful team at and we can assist you with the right hoist for you.
Is my concrete appropriate for a hoist?
We recommend a minimum of 150mm of concrete thickness to safely fix our hoists. If you are laying new concrete, please check with a professional regarding appropriate times to drill into the fresh concrete.
