Metal Lathe 240V 15A

You can inspect and test the lathe before purchase, pay cash or bank cheque, then we load it on your tandem trailer (I probably can't get it high enough for a truck bed) It weighs just over 1 Tonne, plus chucks etc. Thank you.

Precision Engine Lathe, 240V, 15A plug. With 4 chucks 100mm to 250mm OD. 200mm chuck is standard. 1000mm between centres, 360mm over bed, 233 over cross slide, 530 over gap. It was the largest, most powerful 240V lathe I could get at the time, it was purchased in about 2008 from Modern Tools in Bayswater and has done about 40-60hrs a year of work, IE not that much. It has been well looked after, beds etc kept oiled.

Faults and limitations : It can disengage the feed (cutting, not threading) under high load. Bearings in Skoda live centre are a little 'notchy'. Coolant has stripped paint from areas where it sits. Machining steel over about 75-80mm diameter is pushing it, starts to chatter. Without a chuck cover coolant tends to fly. There are limited safety features beyond footbrake.

It comes with all tooling and accessories in photos, including Rohm (German) drill chuck, Bison (good quality) 3 jaw 200mm chuck, quick change tool post etc. All original accessories supplied eg reverse jaws, steadies, are there.
